Analytics

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity help us see which pages are used, where people get stuck and which campaigns bring visitors, including recordings of clicks and scrolls with all text on the page hidden. We also remember in this browser, for 90 days, which campaign link brought you. If you switch this on, the data is sent to Google and Microsoft in the United States, and you agree to that transfer.

How to run your studio on elastudio, from your first class to your monthly reports.

Use your own font

On Growth and up, upload a font your studio has a web licence for, like your brand's headline font, in Theme, Type, Your own fonts. It shows only where your licence allows; everywhere else members see a free fallback font you choose.

Before you start

  • Plan: your own fonts come with the Growth plan and up. On a smaller plan the section says so and the upload is refused.
  • Who: the owner and admins, the same people who edit the theme.
  • A licence: fonts are protected work. Upload only a font your studio may use on the web, at the addresses you choose. Many shop licences cover one website only; that is fine, as long as you say so when you upload (see “Where your licence allows it” below).

If you have no licence, pick the closest of the 32 free fonts in Headings and Body text instead. They are free for every studio.

Upload a font

  1. Open Settings (the cog at the bottom of the menu) and, under What members see, select Theme.
  2. In Type, under Your own fonts, select Upload your own font.
  3. Under Font files, choose the Regular file (required) and, if you have them, Bold and Italic.
  4. Type a Font name. Only you and your team see it.
  5. Under Use it for, tick Headings, Body text or both.
  6. Choose Where your licence allows it (below).
  7. Add a Licence note or link if you like: the shop, the order number or a link to the licence.
  8. Tick I have a licence that allows using this font on the web at the studio’s addresses. This box is required on every upload and every change. We keep who ticked it and when.
  9. Select Upload.

If you ticked Use it for, the font is set in your draft at once. Publish the theme to show it to members.

Which files work

  • WOFF2 or WOFF, as your licence gives them for the web. These are best.
  • TTF and OTF are accepted too and turned into WOFF.
  • 1 MB at most per file. A studio can have up to 5 fonts and 6 MB in all. When you reach that, delete a font to add another.

Some files are refused, with a message saying why:

  • A font collection (several fonts in one file): upload each font as its own file.
  • A font with SVG glyphs: upload a version without them.
  • A damaged or incomplete file: download it again from where you bought it.

Where your licence allows it

  • All elastudio pages and the website widget: your licence covers your pages on elastudio (for example elastudio.app/your-studio) and the booking widget on each of your websites.
  • Only my own websites: the font shows only on the websites you tick under Your websites. Your pages on elastudio show the fallback font. The list comes from the websites you added in Settings, Website; if it is empty, add your website there first.

A per-website licence, like the ones many font shops sell, fits Only my own websites.

Your font and the fallback font

Once you have a font, Type shows Your font for headings and Your font for body text. Pick one of your fonts, or None (use the font below).

The pickers below them become Fallback for headings and Fallback for body text. The fallback is a free font shown wherever your licence does not cover the page, and if your font is ever deleted. Pick one that looks close to yours.

The theme’s Preview runs on elastudio. If your licence covers only your own websites, the preview shows the fallback font and a note says so; your website shows your font.

Change, replace or delete

Each font in the list shows its files, where it is used, and who confirmed the licence and when.

  • Edit where it is used: change the name, the scope, the websites or the note. Tick the licence box again to save.
  • Replace files: upload new files for the same font. Pages that use it get the new files.
  • Delete: the font files are deleted. Pages that use it show the fallback font from then on, also in older theme versions you could roll back to.
