Backups and recovering lost data
elastudio backs up every studio every night and keeps 30 days of backups. If something is deleted or changed by mistake, write to support@elastudio.app and we can recover it.
What is backed up
Two layers of backup run without you doing anything:
- A nightly copy of each studio. Every night we save a full copy of your studio’s data: members, classes, bookings, passes, sales and settings. We keep the last 30 days.
- A 30-day history of the whole database. Our database host keeps a point-in-time history, so the database can be rewound to any moment in the last 30 days if something goes wrong across the platform.
Sign-in sessions and similar security codes are left out of backups on purpose.
If something goes wrong
Restoring is done by us, not by a button in the admin. Write to support@elastudio.app as soon as you notice and tell us:
- what was lost or changed;
- roughly when it happened;
- who in your team made the change, if you know.
We check what happened and agree with you on what to recover. Your sales, payments, refunds and credit history are kept by the system and are never erased by an edit in the admin, so most mistakes can be put right.
Note: The sooner you write, the better. Backups older than 30 days are deleted.
Things you can undo yourself
- A spreadsheet import can be undone by the owner or an admin for 7 days after it ran.
- Changes to passes and memberships save a new version. Members who already bought keep the terms they paid for.
- The look of your pages can be rolled back by the owner to an earlier version of your theme.
Deleted data and backups
When data is deleted, for example when a member asks to be forgotten, it disappears from backups as they expire, within about 30 days.
Your own copies
You can export your member list as a CSV file from Members with Export CSV, on every plan, and reports as CSV files on Starter and up. Your sales are also recorded as invoices in your own Stripe account.
