Marketing consent for news by e-mail
Each member chooses whether they want news and offers from your studio by e-mail. Consent starts off, only the member can give or withdraw it, and every choice is recorded.
One choice: news by e-mail
elastudio keeps a yes or no for each member: whether they want news and offers from your studio by e-mail. WhatsApp and text messages (SMS) do not exist in elastudio yet, so members are not asked about them.
Every choice starts as no. When a member signs up, the marketing box is unticked. Leaving it unticked is recorded as no.
What is recorded
For each change: yes or no, the date and time, where it came from (for example the sign-up form or the member’s account), and the wording and language the member saw. This is the proof that privacy laws such as the LGPD, PIPEDA and CASL ask you to keep.
Only the member decides
Members change it in their account, under Messages: News and offers by e-mail. They can change it at any time.
Staff cannot give consent for a member, and an import never brings consent in. Marketing, WhatsApp and SMS consent columns in a spreadsheet are refused, and imported members are asked like anyone new.
See who agreed
Open a member’s profile and look at Messages allowed: news by e-mail, yes or no. The member list’s Export CSV includes a column for news by e-mail consent.
Messages that need no marketing consent
Booking confirmations, receipts, cancellations and class changes are part of the service. They always go out by e-mail, whatever the member chose.
This number has WhatsApp on a member’s contact details only says how to reach them. It is not consent to send news.
Note: elastudio does not send newsletters. Use the consent record to contact only the people who said yes, in whatever tool you use for news.
When consent is withdrawn
Stop sending news to that person straight away. The change shows on their profile at once.
