Which currency you pay in, and taxes
Studios in Brazil pay in reais, studios in Canada in Canadian dollars plus tax, and studios everywhere else in US dollars. The checkout always shows the exact amount before any charge.
Your currency is set by your billing country
You pay for your elastudio plan in the currency of your studio’s billing country:
- Brazil: Brazilian reais (R$);
- Canada: Canadian dollars (CA$);
- every other country, the United States included: US dollars (US$).
There is no currency switch. Each currency has its own fixed price, set by hand, not converted from a live exchange rate. The plans and features are the same everywhere.
Prices on our website
Every page of elastudio.app, in English or Portuguese, shows prices for the country you are visiting from: R$ in Brazil, CA$ in Canada, US$ elsewhere.
So if you visit from a country other than your studio’s, for example while travelling, the price you see may not be your currency. Checkout always charges in your billing country’s currency and shows the exact amount before any charge.
Taxes
- Canada: prices are shown before sales tax. GST or HST, at your province’s rate, is added at checkout and shown on your invoice. elastudio is not available in Quebec yet.
- Outside Canada: no Canadian sales tax is added. Any taxes of your own country that apply to you are yours to pay, such as IOF in Brazil on payments in a foreign currency.
Note: If the law of your country requires you to withhold tax on payments to us, you pay that tax on top of the price.
How you pay
elastudio plans are paid by card only (Apple Pay and Google Pay work with your card). Pix and boleto are not available for paying elastudio. Each charge comes with an invoice.
This is not what your members pay
Everything here is about your elastudio plan. Your members pay you in your studio’s own currency, by card or Pix, through your own Stripe account. elastudio takes no cut of those sales.
