How the Starter free trial works
Starter comes with 14 days free, billed monthly or yearly. You enter a card at sign-up, nothing is charged for 14 days, and if you cancel before the trial ends you pay nothing.
The short version
- The trial is 14 days, on Starter only. Growth and Pro have no trial.
- It works with monthly and with yearly Starter billing.
- You enter a payment card when you start. Nothing is charged during the 14 days. Your bank may show a temporary check of the card, which is not a charge.
- Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing. Your studio moves to Free and your data stays.
Free has no time limit, so it does not need a trial.
Before and during the trial
Before you start, the confirmation says “Free for 14 days” and shows the amount of the first charge, in your billing currency. Stripe’s payment page shows when the first charge happens. While the trial runs, Plan and usage shows Free trial with the days left and the end date.
At least 3 days before the trial ends, you get a reminder e-mail with the date and amount of the first charge and a way to cancel.
When the trial ends
If you have not cancelled, the trial becomes a paid Starter subscription 14 days after you started. The first payment is charged for the billing period you chose, monthly or yearly, and the plan then renews automatically.
The refund still applies after the trial: 7 days for a monthly plan, 30 days for a yearly plan, counted from the day of that first charge.
Note: If you switch to Growth or Pro during the trial, the trial ends and the first charge for the new plan is made straight away.
One trial per studio
Each studio can have one trial. We may refuse a new trial if the studio, its owner or the payment card has already had one.
How to start a trial
The studio owner opens Settings, Plan and usage, selects Choose a plan and, on Starter, Start 14-day free trial. The card goes on Stripe’s secure page. The button only shows while your studio can still have a trial.
To cancel during the trial, select Cancel plan: the trial ends on its date and nothing is charged.
