What counts as an active member?
An active member is someone who booked or bought something at your studio that month. Past members stored in your list never count.
The definition
A member is active in a month when they booked a class or bought something from your studio that month. Everyone else in your member list does not count: people who came last year, people you imported from a spreadsheet who have not booked yet, and people who created an account but did not book or buy anything that month.
Buying an event ticket counts as buying something. This monthly count is not the same as the Active or Inactive status on a member’s profile, which looks at valid passes, bookings and event tickets from the last 90 days and coming up.
You never need to delete old members to stay under a limit. Keep your full history.
Limits by plan
- Free: 20 active members a month.
- Starter: 200 active members a month.
- Growth and Pro: unlimited.
An example
Your studio has 350 people in its member list. In March, 140 of them book at least one class or buy a pass. You have 140 active members in March, which fits Starter. The other 210 do not count.
The month follows the calendar in your studio’s time zone, so the count starts again on the 1st. You see this month’s number in Settings, Plan and usage, tab Usage.
When you reach the limit
Until the 1st, or until you change plan, nobody new can join: your team cannot add new members, and people who are not members of your studio yet cannot sign up or book online. They are asked to get in touch with the studio, and never see anything about plans.
Everyone who already has a profile at your studio keeps booking, buying and renewing, even people who were not active yet this month. Nothing you already created is deleted or hidden. The owner gets an e-mail when the limit is reached. The article on plan limits has the details.
Other limits
Active members are one of several limits. Plans also differ in staff logins, rooms, locations, and the number of passes and memberships on Free. The article on plan limits lists them all.
